The Illusion of Sales
I’m not saying sales don’t exist. It does. There is no question about it. The sales industry generates trillions of dollars every year. I get it.
There is a level that where sales exist OUTSIDE us. We can all see it. Then there is another level where sales exists INSIDE us. How we feel and think about sales. You might have picked up self-limited beliefs about your worth and the value you bring or if you should talk about money in a sales call from society, your community, or well-meaning adults.
You might have heard some of these sayings growing up:
- You should be successful but not TOO SUCCESSFUL
- Be pretty but not TOO PRETTY
- Speak your mind but NOT TOO MUCH
Don’t be TOO MUCH this or TOO MUCH that.
You feel like you can never win. There is no standard meter, like a ruler to even determine what “not successful” or “too successful” even is. It’s subjective and based on personal experiences.
It’s downright exhausting.
I say, “Screw these systems”. They don’t work anyway. Look at the murder rates and violence of the world. Who would we want to play in that game anyway? They don’t have it right.
I’m going to show you a new game of how to win YOUR WAY at sales.
We are going to break the mold together. First, let’s play a game. It’s called:
“I Love That” Game.
#1 – Say a self-limiting belief or feeling. Like,
“I’m not good at sales.”
#2 – Then say, “…and I love that”
#3 – Say it all together now…
“I’m not good at sales and I love that!”
Suddenly, you are FREE. Can you feel that? The issue is not the thought, it’s just a thought. It’s your RESISTANCE to the thought which mucks everything up.
When we have thoughts, we can think that they are bigger than us. So we resist them.
All the things that we think we are that are limited,
- I’m not worthy.
- I’m nervous.
- I’m scared.
And the only evidence that these things are true, is our past. Like, “I suck at sales because of that one time.” That event happened in the past.
You are infinite possibilities. You are amazing. Truly one of a kind.
Let this sink in for a moment. Be in this moment with me.
You might think, “Listen lady. You don’t know MY story.”
News flash: You are not your past. It’s not who you are. You are here in the present moment. It doesn’t matter that you totally bombed a sales call 2 years ago or 2 days ago. You are here in the present moment right now.
I believe that you can move past these self-limiting beliefs. I believe in you.
